The Chairman of the Board of The Sabancı Holding Güler Sabancı who talked at the ceremony said, “Nowadays development of the global economy is linked to the subjects of innovation, information highways which were composed by innovation and the scientific cooperation”. The “Invention Awards” which was organized in order to promote R & D researchers by Kordsa Global who is the world leader industrialist of the sector of the reinforcing materials, found their owners via the conducted ceremony.
Kürşat Aksoy who has the signature on the uttermost inventions became the owner of the Grand Award of the Invention Awards of Kordsa Global at the ceremony which was realized in the Sabancı Center. Certificates were presented to the researchers whose inventions obtained patents and who applied for a patent at the ceremony and also Thank You Plaques were presented to the foundations and institutes who supported Kordsa Global. The Chairman of the Board of The Sabancı Holding Güler Sabancı, The Head of the Industry Group of the Sabancı Holding Mehmet Pekuran and a vast number of guests from the science, bureaucracy and business world attended the ceremony. At the Ceremony of Kordsa Invention Awards, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahattin Koç who took a giant step within the science world by producing an aorta with living human cells and 3D bio-printer in the Sabancı University shared his thoughts with regard to scientific research process.

The Chairman of the Board of The Sabancı Holding Güler Sabancı who made the opening speech of the ceremony said the following: “Kordsa always has become the leader and pioneer of its sector as an implementer of the technology and innovations. Researches conducted center that first 10 largest economies of the world are directly proportional to the produced information, made innovation investments. Today Kordsa Global is one of the several companies which come to mind in relation to the subject of innovation in the world. The personnel of Kordsa Global observes the customers’ needs and requests very well and blend this information with technology, in this way they are able to present new products to their customers. Today more than 50 researchers within the body of Kordsa Global are incorporating their efforts in order to develop innovative reinforcement solutions. Today, I can say with a great happiness that as Sabancı Community we are making investment into a very correct point for R&D and innovation. Innovation and R&D are the most important propellant powers which take place within the DNA of the Sabancı Community and direct today and also tomorrow of our each establishment. We give full support with all of our establishments to R&D investments of the private sector and at the same time we also work with the Sabancı University with passion and excitement in order to carry interest to our country and our society within the subjects of intellectual capital and human resources. Increasing scientific cooperation with the universities and inclining towards R&D are obligatory for the companies.”

The Head of the Industry Group of the Sabancı Holding Mehmet Pekuran said that Kordsa Global had become the source of pride with his modernization by means of his flexible approach to the variable dynamics of the world and ultimately because of managing to be the one and only global company of Turkey in real terms in his long journey of 41 years. Pekarun summarized the leadership voyage of Kordsa as follows: “Our customers with whom we worked during 2000s requested us to be with them at everywhere they go. Our globalization voyage started like this: By means of accompanying them as a solution partner at everywhere they go. We positioned technology as a separate initiative within our organization by means of establishing our Technology Center of Kordsa Global in the year of 2008 and the innovation motor which started to operate that day never stopped up to the present.”
WE BECAME DIFFERENT VIA THE EFFICIENT COST MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY
The CEO of Kordsa Global Cenk Alper who attracted attention to the competition advantage that is provided by innovation in his speech at the ceremony, pointed out that R&D was the basic foundation with product, quality and service which were the basic strategy of the company and with operational perfection in differentiation. Alper who stated that they had supported “The Enriching Inventions” with the Invention Awards of Kordsa Global said the following: “We were selected as the second company with the best R&D performance with our R&D which is composed of 65 persons out of two giant defense industry establishments by The Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. Also within this context we are the greatest indicator who shows that the R&D performance can be increased up to the higher levels by competence and productivity instead of investment or the number of the personnel.”
KORDSA GLOBAL WHO BECAME DIFFERENT FROM ITS COMPETITORS
Cenk Alper summarized the strategy of Kordsa Global as follows: “Nowadays because of the variable conditions of the global economy, the production which slid from west to east and Asian players whose numbers are increased, we exert all our efforts in order to be a differentiating Kordsa Global from competitors. The efficient cost management and technology are our two focal points within our strategies.” Alper who reminded that Kordsa Global was the world leader within the area of production of industrial nylon, polyester and cord fabric, conveyed that 12 new products had released to the market by the company in the year of 2013 and Kordsa Global had gained 26 million dollars of endorsement from those products. Alper explained the 2017 target of Kordsa Global with the following words: “We target to gain 150 million dollars of endorsement from 17 new products. However when we evaluate it from the point of ratio within our endorsement, its share within the total endorsement is 20 percent.”
