sinyal-emiciSignal absorbing textile material… Northern Cyprus Middle East Technical University Campus, have designed textile material that prevents the military equipment being detected by the radar. The textile material was d esigned following c ollaborative studies carried out by İ skenderun Technical University and of Çukurova University teaching fellows under the coordination of teaching fellow Associate Dr. Cumali Sabah at Northern Cyprus Middle East Technical University Campus, the said material prevents reflection and transmission in the direction to where the radar signal is transmitted to. The designed structure of around 4.5 GHz enables absorption of signal of around 4.5 GHz and thereby impedes the detection of the objects covered with this structure. Based on the outcomes of the study, it is targeted at creating a product prototype for the purpose of impeding almost all of the military equipment from being detected by the radar such as cannon, tanks, aircraft deployed on the ground.

PATENT APPLICATION HAS BEEN MADE
Patent application has been made regarding the structure on which studies have been pursued over a period of two years and dulu published in one of the most prestigious journals of the world, the Journal of Industrial Textiles. T here h ave b een p revious s tudies conducted in this regard however, the last study made differs from the others in terms of techniques u sed s tated o f t eaching fellow Associate Dr. Cumali Sabah at Northern Cyprus Middle East Technical University Campus, and he added as follows: “The radar is a device that is endowed with a sensor area of 360 degrees thanks to its capability to reflect the waves of the objects. Therefore, it sends angled signals. The structure that we have designed is able to function independently from the angle. T hus no matter from w hich point, from which angle the signal may emanate from the object that we shall hide behind the said textile material shall be impeded from being detected by the radar systems. For example, even though the textile material takes the geometrical shape of the tank, thanks to the independent angle feature, it is impeded from being detected by the radar.”
