Petniz providing service in the field of heating, steam, hot oil boilers and pressure vessels, sustains its production in its modern facility having 600 m2 closed area in Istanbul/ Avcılar-Esenyurt.
Exporting its 30% of production to different countries around the world Petniz gives particular importance to quality and customer satisfaction. Systems with tapered thread stoker; systems combined with solid fuelled, water-tube, pre-combustion spaced, ladder stepped hydraulic-powered scotch steam boiler are among the firsts of our country developed by Petniz. These systems have been serving for the central heating systems and industrial facilities. We had an interview with Şevket Sevgen Yağlı, Founder of Petniz, about Petniz and the developments in the heating industry. First of all, can you mention the developments in Petniz? “As Petniz, we are the company who manufactured the first steam generator. The generators manufactured by us have been working for long years. However, when largescaled works occurred, we gave weight to large plants powered with coal and steam as we couldn’t assign our staff to these works. Therefore, our operations for steam generators slowed down and we couldn’t meet the demands. Now, we have started working on this area again with today’s technology and planned providing service to our country in 2014 by giving distributorships around Turkey. The preparations are about to be completed for this. We invite the industrialists who want to work with us in the field of steam and hot oil boilers to Sodex Fair. At the same time, our works outside the country successfully continue. We are thinking about increasing our capacity as much as our sub-industry allows. About this, we have a serious personnel shortage. Swift industrialization in Turkey caused a major personnel shortage. Right now, the problem slowing down our growth is this personnel need. This problem should be solved as soon as possible. As is known, technology has improved to a great extent. Within our sector, the issues of flue gas and carbon dioxide emissions are very significant. Nevertheless, I believe that we have succeeded all these by coping with the difficulties.” What would you like to say about the point the technology has reached in steam and hot oil boilers? “The technology reached in oil boilers should be evaluated according to the fuels they fire. As you know, there are liquid, solid and gas fuels. Technology is conducted in accordance with the thermo-dynamic laws. It is not possible to act against these laws. What matter here are the developments to increase yield. This means full combustion of the fuel. Some studies have been carried out about the full thermal combustion. We closely follow the developments in the systems in which TEKSTİL & TEKNİK ARALIK | DECEMBER | 2013 PANORAMA 70 auxiliary energy is minimum while combustion is maximum. This system is of great importance in terms of both the protection of environment and energy and decreasing the costs. We have been carrying out our studies to minimize the auxiliary energy and stay below the determined emission numbers. There will not be any changes in the combustion technique and physic laws. The key points here are the design and size of furnace. As Petniz, we increased the sizes of boilers within our mass production. There are too many solutions about the heating technique.” What do you think about the cooperation of Turkish industrialists with foreign partners and what should be paid attention in the partnerships? “Turkey is the most attractive country in the world to make investments. There are great numbers of funds in Europe. The money gathered under these funds is entrusted to the banks. The banks use this money. These banks issue bonds on behalf of those companies and market these bonds. And as Turkey is the safe harbor, more investors are to come Turkey. What Turkey expects from these investors is their production and exportation to some extent. Turkey will take a great advantage of these kinds of investments. Sub-industry will also support this situation. And as a result, sub-industry will also grow. Other than that, they are in search of partners in Turkey to put the foreign products into Turkish market. At this point, they unfortunately make capital out of Turkish partners. After they enter Turkish market, the share given to Turkish partner decreases in time under the cover of capital increase and turns into a situation in which Turkish partners are asked to sell their shares. More partners will come to Turkey. We are not a begging country anymore. Instead, we are granting and helping. To sum up, the firms to be get into a partnership should be analyzed carefully. My advice for the industrialists is that they should make production for not only domestic consumption but exportation. They should set goals in a way as to make sales all the countries in the world. Turkish people are very hardworking, smart and enterprising and I trust Turkish people. The industrialists have to be supported. This Government has made very good things for our country. We expect the Government to support industrialists especially in terms of tax issue.” What should Turkey do to increase energy investments? “Turkey has to make 130 billion dollar energy investment for 2023 target. Our energy need increases every day. The item having the biggest deficit in foreign trade is energy importation. The coal being our own source has to make a contribution to energy production by means of building new thermal plants. The Government has made major strides in energy subject. The firms serving for heating industry should be careful in their investments and this is how they will obtain a healthy growth. Considering the technologic development of Turkey, it is possible to see that Turkey falls behind in the field of heating industry. The firms serving for heating industry in Turkey are not giant firms. Therefore, these firms can achieve growth by getting into partnerships.”
