Karl Mayer will exhibit at ITM Texpo Eurasia 2013. The world market leader in warp knitting machinery and warp preparation units has an ML 46 in its exhibition package and will demonstrate the advantages of an electronic multibar Raschel machine of the latest generation.

The innovative production equipmenthad already attracted attention with a typical performance at last year’s ITMA Asia+CITME. The ML 46 is characterized by an extremely high productivity, by the top quality of its products, and by its versatility in different application fields – and, last but not least, it also comes at a moderate price. With its excellent cost/performance ratio the new ML 46 is the first-choice machine as it permits rapid adaptation to rapidly-changing market demands. In this case, those visiting the exhibition can see for themselves. During ITM Texpo Eurasia 2013 the newcomer will produce net curtains with complex patterns. In addition to the interest in the exhibited ML 46, Bastian Fritsch reckons that there will be many enquiries about the HKS 3-M. ‘The universal high-performance tricot machine had alreadybeen the focal point of visitors’ enquiries at the 2012 event in Istanbul,’ declared the regional sales manager from KARL MAYER. ‘This innovative machine offers numerous production possibilities, especially for the manufacture of embroidery grounds, upholstery fabrics and net curtains, those product groups which are currently much in demand,’ he added.

A noise insulation area thanks to spacer textiles

KARL MAYER will be presenting two new innovations at Techtextil 2013, which is scheduled to take place from 11 to 13 June in Frankfurt. The Warp Knitting Business Unit has developed acoustic-damping, warp-knitted spacer textiles, which this manufacturer will integrate effectively into the design of its stand. At ITMA 2011, KARL MAYER successfully showed how warp-knitted textiles could be integrated into a stand to create maximum impact. By using textiles in the design of its stand at Techtextil 2013, this innovative machine building company has taken up the theme of functional interior design and produced acoustic room elements from 3D warp-knitted textiles. The Technical Textiles Business Unit will also be showing a new sun-screening system, which is designed primarily for greenhouses but can also be used in the home.

The solar textile is marketed under the name of OMBRA-DLS®. OMBRA-DLS® comprises an elastic, warp-knitted grid-like textile, which combines elastic warp yarns with slit-film yarns that are inserted from a magazine weft insertion unit. The openings in the mesh can be varied by stretching and relaxing the net, so that the amount of sun and thermal radiation can be adjusted as required. This new sun-screening solution provides consistent light diffusion and climate management. Details of OMBRA-DLS® are given in the “Technical Textiles” section of this issue. With these two market-oriented textile innovations for providing acoustic insulation and sun protection, KARL MAYER is once again showing that it is an expert service-provider and project partner in the field of product development. When developing new solutions and opening up applications that are not typical end-uses for textiles, this well-known textile machinery specialist can support its customers by providing both advice and practical help. Specific projects have led to the development of market-ready products and hitherto undiscovered concepts that can be used by textile producers.
