Dr. Özdemir Ay who is the academician at the Textile Department of Trakya University has produced a computer-controlled machine by transforming the four thread test device into one device for the use of students in the laboratory environment. In the Project which was under the consultancy of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilmi Kuşçu from Machine Engineering Department, Instructor Dr. Özdemir Ay has attained the success of transforming the four devices into one in the laboratories of many universities which will enable the Textile Companies, students
of Textile Engineering and Textile Technician Departments to use this device for the quality control of thread and numbering experiments. In this work whose design and development has been made by Dr. Özdemir Ay, software parts have been made by the academicians of Balıkesir University called Assist Prof. Dr. Raif Sakin and Instructor Akif Birol Dumanay. The Test Device which totally includes Thread Endurance Test Device, Digital Yarn Spinning Meter, Thread Unevenness Test Device, Electronic Number Assignment for a Thread Test and will be launched to the market at low prices. Furthermore, a computer programme has been written to control and run the Device. The Device makes a number assignment for a thread, yarn spinning assignment, endurance test for a thread, assignment for the stretching breakage of the thread, quality test for the thread unevenness and reports by entering the results.
