On the occasion of the ITMA 2019, which takes place in Barcelona from 20 to 26 June, Jakob Müller AG unveiled new MÜGRIP®MBJ8 rapier loom for the manufacture of labels. With a production speed of 680 rpm and a maximum reed width of 1,380 mm, the machine offers the efficient output of labels, images and technical narrow fabrics with slit selvedges. The machine exhibited at the fair produces a taffeta quality fabric with 54.6 warp threads per centimetre.
The machine’s new universal controlscatch the eye at first glance. All the process sequences in the loom are monitored and controlled electronically using the new MLC controls and the MÜDATA®M series. The new MÜDATA®M series is easy to operate via a 13” monitor with 1600 x 900 pixel resolution and also disposes over a number of innovative functions such as the storage of machine parameters and designs with the article card, and the visualisation in pictures of standstill causes. Seven different warning light colour codes underpin such images optically. In addition, the colours can be configured individually to meet customer requirements.
A NEW LIGHTING CONCEPT
Another new feature is the reworked machine lighting, which makes the tasks of MÜGRIP®MBJ8 operators far more pleasant. The Jakob Müller SMART lighting underneath the jacquard machine creates the perfect illumination of both the front and rear working areas of the loom. Equally new is the LED lighting in the area of the slitting elements and the fabric winder. All the LED lights are automatically controlled and dimmed via the machine controls and are switched off with just a click on the touchscreen. The lights can also be configured individually to match the needs of the operating personnel, e.g. light intensity, switching time in a running or stop mode. The new lighting concept guarantees the rapid repair of weft and warp breakages, the precise fine setting of the knife and improved fabric control during ongoing operation.
OPTIMISED OPERATIONAL SAFETY AND MACHINE ACCESS
A light barrier newly safeguards the space area with weft feed and reed motion, which means that a cover is no longer required. On the one hand, this offers greater safety and on the other, improved access
SPECIAL YARN PROCESSING
The MÜGRIP®MBJ8 employs the new IRO LUNA X3. This latest addition to the proven X3 weft accumulator series offers an energy efficient motor and optimum initial yarn tension. A TEC brake is also available as an option. This programmable thread tensioning device provides improved tension control for increased productivity during the processing of special yarns.
HIGH PRODUCTIVITY AND COST EFFICIENCY LEVELS
The MÜGRIP® MB8 is the ideal machine for the production of woven labels. Simple machine programming, high flexibility, short resetting times, a minimal maintenance requirement, excellent accessibility and intuitive machine operation guarantee high levels of cost efficiency. The gentle handing of the warp and weft materials during production allows an operating speed of 680 rpmin combination with financial benefits and perfect fabric quality.
mymuenet FOR GLOBAL ACCESS TO PRODUCTION DATA VIA PCS, TABLETS AND SMART PHONES
The new mymuenet portal assists production planners during their assignments with MÜNET production data logging software and provides a quick overview of both the current status of the machines in the weaving shop and the productivity of the entire mill. Moreover, via simple indicators, it recognises if the individual machines are in an optimum operational condition. Through other functions, mymuenet also facilitates worldwide data access by means of PCs, tablets and smart phones, pattern transfers to the machines with the corresponding order parameters, access to the machine order lists, pattern adjustments via an editor, and alterations to the machine parameters. The MÜGRIP®MBJ8 is prepared for integration into this network and this represents an important step towards the realisation of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) strategy.
