Südwolle Group, the worsted spinner based in Nürnberg, Germany has announced an increased presence in the Turkish Market. From the 1st of October 2015, Südwolle Group will establish a subsidiary company in Turkey to increase service levels for its wool based yarns to the textile industry there. The move reflects a number of factors; including the importance and potential of the textile industry in Turkey as well as the desire to be more responsive to customer requirements. In the last two years, Südwolle Group has also opened subsidiaries or offices in the USA, the UK and Hong Kong. Brand Director for Südwolle weaving yarns division and for the new Turkish legal entity Mr Stéphane Thouvay explains “ Südwolle Group 5.0 is what we call this stage of our company’s 50 years of evolution from a manufacturing expert to a customer focused service organisation. We are setting up our sales, planning and production teams to be more “fit for purpose”. Strengthening our presence in the Turkish market is an important part of that strategy. The decision to invest in Turkey underlines clearly the confidence of Südwolle Group in the wool sector and illustrates also the Group’s organisational transformation to align itself more closely with its supply chain partners”. Mr. Melik Erdinç has been hired as General Manager of Südwolle Group Turkey as from October 1st, 2015. He is an expert in this filed with more than 15 years of experience in the Turkish wool industry. He will be based in Istanbul and will be responsible for managing sales activities of the full range of wool based yarns for weaving, flat knitting, circular knitting, hosiery and technical textiles.
