What’s new from Roland at FESPA Eurasia 2014

t8Roland DG exhibited at FESPA Eurasia 2014 in Istanbul, with many proposals of products, application solutions and services tailored for the operators of visual communication industry.

For the first time in the Turkish market, the new flatbed from Roland VersaUV LEJ-640F, a flatbed UV printer equipped with the ECO-UV ink. LEJ-640F prints CMYK, white and clear inks onto both flexible and rigid substrates up to 15cm thick allowing the user to print white on a variety of clear and coloured media for text and graphic that stand out. Moreover, it uses the transparent ink to create textures and embossing effects. Roland also showcased the new Texart RT-640, a 64-inch dye-sublimation printer equipped with Roland’s new Texart ink. A four (CMYK)-or eight (CMYKLcLmOrVi)-colour ink configuration and a choice between two different RIP software: the ErgoSoft Roland Edition and the Roland VersaWorks. With the addition of Orange and Violet inks, the RT-640 offers an extremely wide colour gamut, enabling vivid printing with high contrast. The new Black ink delivers depth and density to produce accurate, intense and high-class output. The RT-640 increases the business opportunities through a wide range of applications including apparel, signs, interior décor, fashion and original goods.

A wide range of printers

Roland showed the new VersaEXPRESS RF- 640, with ECO-SOL MAX2 colour ink in four colours (CMYK) and iPad control. Impressive print speed, outstanding print quality, advanced productivity features and unmatched reliability and support makes the new Roland VersaEXPRESS RF-640 four-colour printer the smartest choice for printing business. Equipped with the latest print head technology and GREENGUARD Gold-certified ECO-SOL MAX2 inks, the RF-640 delivers vibrant prints at speeds up to 48.5m2/h. Other special features of RF-640 are the new Roland Ink Switching System that allows a seamless replace ink cartridges when they run out without having to stop and restart the printer. Plus the Roland Printer Assist iPad app that enables to remotely manage production, test printing and cleaning functions right on your iPad tablet. Another interesting printing solution is the SOLJET PRO4 XF- 640, a 64” printer width equipped with CMYK colours. The device is solid, with a uniquely engineered body designed for strength and speed, printing undeterred at speeds of up to 102m2/h, ideal for the demanding production environment. The XF-640 is equipped with ECO-SOL MAX2 ink and produces vibrant, detailed images at incredible speed. Its dual CMYK ink set provides a wide colour gamut, quick drying prints and outstanding long-term outdoor durability. XF-640 can print a wide range of stunning, durable outdoor and indoor banners, posters, signs, vehicle graphics, window graphics, exhibition graphics, roller banners and pull ups and much more in super-fast time and at exceptionally high quality.

For the print&cut solution Roland is worldwide leader manufacturer. At FESPA Eurasia 2014, Roland will showcase the SOLJET PRO4 XR-640, the high-quality flagship model, is renowned for quality engineering, reliable performance and unmatched versatility. 64”, print&cut function, this robust machine features a whole host of high quality like banners, signs, posters, vehicle graphics, labels, decals, POS displays and more. XR- 640 is equipped with the ECO-SOL MAX2 ink technology including a light black, highopacity white and fast-drying metallic silver, plus the latest print head technology which maximises output while virtually eliminating bi-directional banding and allows for 7 or 8 colour configurations. VersaCAMM VSi print&cut product family will be represented by the VS-640i model, the device that offers the operator the opportunity to create more than 50 different graphic applications. With a choice of five different ECO-SOL MAX2 ink configurations and the benefit of integrated print and cut functionality, the VS-640i is a versatile device perfect for every graphic application with a great price/quality ratio. The VS-i series uses the latest, awardwinning, high-opacity ECO-SOL MAX2 inks, engineered to deliver superb quality graphics with vibrant colours and sharp text and images, including Metallic and White ink to add an eye-catching edge and added-value to any graphic. Furthermore, VS-i could be equipped with Light Black ink to improve grey scale gradations, natural skin tones and delivers the sharpest photographic images. Another print&cut solution is the VersaSTUDIO BN-20, the Roland’s smallest printer and cutter, ideal for creating a wide range of applications for indoor as well as outdoor use such as signage, stickers, labels, transfers for apparel, POP displays, window stickers, posters and many more. The VersaCAMM SP-540i (media width up to 137cm) is the best choice for any novice sign maker. With print and cut feature embodied, the SP-540i is ideal for quickly and easily making heat transfers, stickers, labels, banners, displays, signs, prints, posters, and much more . Compact and easy to operate, the SP-540i can fit into any production or office environment and guarantee trouble-free production. Moreover, the virtually odourless ECO-SOL MAX ink is supplied in handy ink cartridges (220 or 440cc).

UV printers

At the exhibithion, Roland showcased two different solutions for the UV printers. The VersaUV LEF-20 is the right choice for customizing gifts, gadgets and clothing accessories. It is featured by a unique quality and the possibility to print on different materials, also curved up to 2 mm. LEF-20 allows to print with 4-colors and white, adding also the option of glossy or matte painting, this latter that can be sized in height for very tactile and textural details. LEF series can print onto virtually any object and any substrate up to 100mm thick including acrylic, wood, board, metal, plastic, PET, ABS, canvas and even soft materials like TPU, leather and fabric. Graphic applications are souvenirs, novelty goods, giftware, signage, POP, awards, consumer items, industrial parts or packaging prototypes. It is possible to print a single item or a short production run without a costly and time-consuming set up.

3D world from Roland

A special corner will be dedicated to the new Roland DG 3D products, the new 3D additive printer ARM-10 and the new subtractive milling machine SRM-20. These two devices work with different technology for allowing to designers, makers, engineers and other creative to transform ideas into physical objects.

Engraving device

At FESPA Eurasia 2014, Roland also showcased the EGX-350, an engraving machine suitable for incising logos, texts and design into different materials such as plastic, aluminium, copper and wood. The EGX-350 is very easy to use and it’s the right choice for adding a personal touch and making beautiful custom-made item.
