tekstil-tabanliWorkshop called “Development of Textile Based Smart and Multifunctional Composite Product and Insulation Materials” took place at İTÜ Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design within the scope of the project titled Textile Based Composite Advanced Technology and Innovation Center supported by Istanbul Development Agency and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Nuray Uçar, one of the academic members of İTÜ Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design. İTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca, Dean of the Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design Prof. Dr. Nevin Çiğdem Gürsoy, Ministry of Science Industry Technology, Head of the Department of Industrial Policies Bilal Tex, General Secretary of Composite Industrialists Association İsmail Hakkı Hacıalioğlu and Vice Chairman of the Management Board of IZODER Heating Water Sound and Fire Insulators Association Ertuğrul Şen and many sector representatives joined this workshop. Within the scope of the workshop, presentations were given on the subjects such as Technological Developments in Textile Based Inorganic and Organic Lightweight Composites, Smart Composites, Multifunctional and Nonflammable Composites, Developments in Textile Based Heat and Sound Insulation Materials and Aerogels, and 3D (Three dimensional) Composite Applications in Textile Technologies (Weaving, Knitting, Braiding). On the part of ITU NOVA TTO, information was provided by academics concerning National and International Grants, Funds and Projects. At the end of the workshop, the senior managers and the owners of the leading companies of the textile sector held bilateral discussions on the projects and subjects that can be conducted concurringly.
