Stretch yourself: A sustainable interpretation by young designers
Seven leading Monforts denim customers supported the “Stretch Yourself” initiative, a collaboration between the House of Denim Foundation and The Lycra Company, by providing fabrics for the project. The collection, shaped by the vision of young designers, showcased stretch denim concepts tailored to the digital era and sustainability demands.
Mariette Hoitink, co-founder of House of Denim, commented: “We began with educational sessions focused on sustainability and innovation. Then we gave the students full creative freedom. The results were unexpected and truly inspiring.”
Cotton still reigns, but cellulosic fibres are on the rise
Alongside cotton, Monforts customers are increasingly incorporating cellulosic fibres such as Tencel and Ecovero into denim production. Lenzing Hong Kong’s Application Innovation Collection, developed with partner mills including Advance Denim, Naveena, Soorty, TCE Jeans, and US Denim Mills, highlights sustainable fabric innovations made possible by Monforts technologies.
Advanced processes for delicate fibres
Monforts’ ECO LINE concept offers gentle stretching and skewing processes that preserve the integrity of delicate fibres, while also improving overall fabric quality. The Double Rubber Shrinking system provides tailored solutions for highly elastic fabrics, and the ThermoStretch and EcoApplicator units allow for significant reductions in chemical usage.
One-Step dye fixation with econtrol® technology
With its Econtrol® and Econtrol® TC-A technologies, Monforts offers a single-step dyeing and drying solution for cotton and cellulosic fabrics. By combining steam and air in a controlled environment, the process fixes dyes in just 2–3 minutes at 120–130°C and 25–30% relative humidity, delivering major gains in energy efficiency.

Stretch Yourself: Genç tasarımcılardan sürdürülebilir yorum
Monforts müşterisi yedi öncü denim üreticisi, House of Denim Foundation ve Lycra Company iş birliğinde hayata geçirilen “Stretch Yourself” projesine kumaş desteği verdi.
