The inauguration of the exhibition was organized by the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Kahramanmaraş in collaboration with ECR Exhibitions at KAFUM fair center. The exhibition gave start with the inauguration speeches given by the Deputy Governor of Kahramanmaraş Erkan Bulgan, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatih Mehmet Erkoç, President of Trade and Industry Chamber Kemal Karaküçük. During the speech given by Deputy Governor of Kahramanmaraş Erkan Bulgan, he stated that they appreciate the investments made throughout the province by businessmen and continued as follow: “Kahramanmaraş, is a city endowed with deep historical roots, extraordinary nature, rich natural resources, cumulative work force and brave business men, thiscity has been hosting excellent events during these two days. As is true for many sectors, it is paramount to catch up with the era and to duly follow the developments in the field of innovation; therefore, to our mind these are positive type of initiatives and our governorship is encouraging them”.
ACOUNTRY’S MOST IMPORTANT BRANCH IS THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY
According to Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatih Mehmet Erkoç, textile is significant industrial branch for developing nations. He went on to say that textile is an industrial branch that plays a major role during the economic and development processes the developing nations are going through, Erkoç continued as follows: “The history of industrialization is a subject that should be learned, read and followed by everyone. Because the entrepreneurs of this city laid the foundations during difficult times, they set out with very limited opportunities. These strong foundations are now today very strong structures. Having started out with cotton production it has now transformed into large manufacturing plants of the world, transformed into fully equipped dyeing plants where the best quality cotton thread is being produced, and today end products are being manufacture ready to be utilized by people all around the World. The textile sector should be transformed into a structure whereby brands and fashionable products that are the determining factors of quality and competition are produced and sold. In short, we have to create our own brands in the textile industry. Thanks to our powerful entrepreneurs who have been trained in these lands, the importance of Kahramanmaraş, in the geographical sense of the word, has increased like never before. We have faith in ourselves and in the future of Kahramanmaraş that is to say we trust our entrepreneurs. We shall continue to take pride in the entrepreneurs of Kahramanmaraş, who through their excellent success and performances have taken their place in the global competitive markets.”
INVESTMENT AND RECRUITMENT SHALL BE DEVELOPING FACTORS FOR THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY
President of Chamber of Trade and Industry of Kahramanmaraş Kemal Kakaküçük stated that since 1980 up to this day, Kahramanmaraş alone realized approximately 15 percent of Turkey’s textile investments, regarding Turkey’s total textile exports figures, Kahramanmaraş has a significant share of it attaining to a figure of 26 billion dollars. Karaküçük said: “Hundreds of textile machinery manufacturers from Europe to China, from America to Taiwan are all here to participate to the Kahramanmaraş Textile Machinery Exhibition which has been inaugurated at this present moment. This big organization hosting all the major global players of the industry is giving us the incentive and encouragement to make successful investments in the textile industry. Kahramanmaraş having successfully displayed its performance, shall as have today also perform successfully in the areas of R&D, fashion designing, fairs, symposiums and congress events” he concluded
