Hygienic fabric from olive pomace

advacnedOne of the projects exhibited at “UTIB 6th International R&D Brokerage Event in Turkish Textile and Apparel Sector” held in recent days, is becoming to a product as a result of the support of investor İlhan Sarı. 

UTIB 6th International R&D Brokerage Event in Turkish Textile and Apparel Sector;which is organized by Uludag Textile Exporters’ Association (UTİB) and aims to meet projects with the sector and the investors gave the first result in terms of establishing partnerships. As a result of the negotiations made at the first day of the event; “The Antimicrobial Home Textile from Olive Pomace” project of Mevlüde Bilgiç and Şule Sultan Uğur took the attention of İhlan Sarı – the owner of İlhan Sarı Organic Olive Farm – and let the parties to establish a partnership. The fabrics which will be manufactured as a result of this partnership will have a particular bad odor blocker property. Speaking about the partnership; İlhan Sarı -the investor and the owner of İlhan Sarı Organic Olive Farm – reminded that he was the owner of the world’s largest organic olive farm that consists of approximately 185 thousand trees and he said: “Till today, we had many projects about olive for creating added value from olive branch, olive juice and olive oil. I think the products which are going to be produced as a result of our last partnership will be used in many areas of textile”.

PROJECT OWNERS ARE HAPPY

Expressing her satisfaction because of establishing a partnership from their project; and stating that antibacterial textile fabrics can be manufactured from oleuropein as a result of “The Antimicrobial Home Textile from Olive Pomace” Şule Sultan Uğur said: “the microorganisms which satisfy their humidity needs from textile products and their nutritional needs from human skin; cause especially bad odors, unwanted discolorations, blemishes and sudden loss of strength on textile materials. The project will be implemented by filling oleuropein – which has an important role at durability of olive trees – into halloysite nanoclay and applying to home textile materials”
