Ak-KimAk-Kim Chemistry reached an important base again in its R&D activities which have been dealt with more systematically since 2011.
After achieving the infrastructure and reaching the employee number required by the ap-plicable legislation, the application made by Ak-Kim to the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of Turkish Republic is accepted in October 25, 2013. The R&D Center certificate is given to Yalçın Mehmet Tanes, R&D Director of Ak-Kim Chemistry by Nihat Ergün, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology during the II. R&D Centers Summit held in Istanbul Convention Center in 15-16 November. Sharing his remarks about the subject, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yalçın Tanes, R&D Director of Ak- Kim said, “We are a corporation which has always been giving a lot of importance to R&D activities with our vision of innovation. Our R&D studies which has been a part of our corporation before are being dealt with more systematically since 2011. We made a great progress by putting the new, high end R&D building having 4 laboratories, varisized offices, meeting rooms, seminar halls and lounges built on a 2.256 m2 area into service in July 2013. With this R&D Center Certificate, it is officially registered that we are one of the leading companies in Turkey in terms of R&D.” Mr. Tanes stating that they have started out with the vision of “being a leading R&D Center producing Know-How” and continued, “As of September 2013, we developed 30 new products in the field of performance chemicals. And until the end of 2013, we will continue developing new products in line with our targets for this year.”
