Linkedin

maierErich Maier has stepped down as CEO of machine building industry supplier Maier Heidenheim, and started on the company’s supervisory board as of January 01, 2016. Florian Maier and Andreas Greiner have taken on leadership of the company. Erich Maier determined the fortune of Maier Heidenheim as CEO for 35 years and kept the company on a successful course with landmark decisions. In 2002, under his leadership, the company realigned, positioning itself as a specialist for rotary joints and penetrating international markets. Subsidiaries were founded in the USA, Italy and just recently in China as well. “This strategy has paid off since we now generate more than half our revenue with nondomestic customers,” concludes Erich Maier. As of the end of 2015, Erich Maier has passed on operative responsibility, but remains with the company in an advisory capacity as a member of the supervisory board. The staff bid their leader of many years an official farewell on the occasion of the company Christmas party. The fourth generation to lead the 90-year-old family-run business now takes the helm with Florian Maier as managing partner. One year ago he joined the management team. Since then Florian Maier has been responsible for the departments sales and distribution, design and development, accounting and IT, and is in charge of business with international subsidiaries. Andreas Greiner, the company’s second CEO, has been with Maier Heidenheim as a plant manager since 1998 and was appointed to the management team in 2012. As CEO, he is in charge of production, materials management, quality assurance and service. With about 160 employees, Maier Heidenheim develops and produces rotary joints that connect stationary and rotating pressurized lines. Maier rotary joints are used in machines and plants in the printing, paper, textile, and plastics industries as well as in wind turbines.
